STATE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- The LOA of Reciprocal is no longer an LOA that can be applied for
electronically. If an applicant would need the LOA of Reciprocal they will
need to contact the IOWA department of insurance for an application.
- All licensees can reinstate an expired license up to and including 12
months from the date of the license lapse by reapplying using the NRL
application and paying the standard fees plus a late fee of $100.00 (for all
authorities). If the license has been inactive for more than 12 months, it
will be processed as a new application and only the standard fee ($50 with
no penalty fee) will apply. Non-resident licenses expire for individuals on
March 31st, business entities on December 31st.
State fees will be collected by NIPR (on behalf of IA) when a transaction is
declined according to IA business rules. Transaction fees and processing fees
will also apply. Violation of the following rules will result in a decline
response.
- Individual applicants - Applicant must be 18
years old or older as determined from the applicant’s Date of Birth.
- Applicant must enter NASD CRD number on
application if applying for Variable.
- If applying for Variable, applicant must also apply for or already hold
Life in IA.
