STATE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- APPLICANTS CANNOT APPLY ONLINE IF THEY PREVIOUSLY HAVE HELD AN ALABAMA LICENSE
- Applicants who provide an affirmative answer to any of the background
questions should fax requested documentation to Danyetta Moore at (334)
240-3282.
- Variable Life and Variable Annuities: CRD and NASD review will be
conducted by the state.
- Business Entities: Business Entities must be registered with the Alabama Secretary of State prior to making application for a non-resident license. Business Entity applications will be declined if the registration is not in place; and fees will not be refunded. Producer(s) designated on the Business Entity application are required to hold an active Alabama license. The Designated Producer(s) must hold the lines of authority requested on the Business Entity application. The application will be declined and fees not refunded, if the Designated Producer(s) is not licensed at the time of application. Please check our website to make sure Designated Producers are currently licensed. Applicants must fax the requested documentation to Antwoinne Dunklin, fax no. 334-240-3282.
- Other: Alabama applicants with an existing active Non-Resident
license cannot electronically amend that license by adding additional Lines of
Authority at this time.
- Please note: There may be a variance of a day or two between the
effective date communicated in the email response generated from our online
application and the actual effective date assigned by the state of Alabama.
The actual effective date will be submitted to the NIPR Producer Database and
printed on your license. To verify the effective date, you may also visit the
following website:
http://www.aldoi.gov/LicenseeSearch/.
- Applicants must go to the AL website and click online services, then print out the license and follow instructions.
State fees will be collected by NIPR (on behalf of AL) when a transaction is
declined according to AL business rules. Transaction fees and processing fees
will also apply. Violation of the following rules will result in a decline
response. Licensing fees are non-refundable
- Applicant must not already hold a Producer or Business Entity Non-Resident
license for any of the six major lines offered through eNRL.
- Applicant must not have an inactive Resident
license in
AL.
- Individual applicants - Applicant must be 18 years old or older as
determined from the applicant’s Date of Birth.

Entity applicants - Business
entities must be a legal business type.
